Luna Azul
One formula. 100 bottles. Only when the moon blooms twice.
Next Blue Moon: December 31, 2027
A blue moon is an anomaly. Most months contain one full moon. When two occur within the same calendar month, the second is called a blue moon. It is an extra bloom in a cycle that was supposed to close.
Luna Azul exists in that same space. A composition outside the numbered archive, appearing only when the sky produces something it was not scheduled to produce. The formula never changes. The availability does.
Archive 00: The Formula
What does blue moonlight smell like?
Not metaphorically. Structurally. If you could distill the scent of a second full moon in a month that already had one, what would that smell like? Not white light. Not silver. Blue. Cold. Rare. Florals that only open after the sun sets. Absolutes that cost more per gram than gold. A base so close to skin temperature it feels like the scent is coming from inside you.
Turey (Top)
The Midnight Bloom
Night-blooming jasmine sambac absolute. Not the bright, heady jasmine from afternoon harvests. This is jasmine after dark, when the indole content peaks and the scent turns deeper, warmer, almost narcotic. Cold moonflower accord. Bergamot frost. Florals that open only at night.
Batey (Heart)
The Impossible Blue
Blue lotus absolute. One of the rarest materials in perfumery. Sacred to ancient Egypt, nearly extinct in the wild, extracted at ratios that make it prohibitively expensive for most perfumers. Layered with orris butter aged three years (the most expensive floral absolute in existence). White peony heart. Violet leaf.
This is the blue. Not the color. The feeling. Metallic. Cold. Luminous. If silver could bloom, it would smell like this.
Coaybay (Base)
The Skin Beneath
Mysore sandalwood. Cashmeran. Skin musk. Ambrette seed. The base sits at 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit. Body temperature. It does not sit on top of the skin. It feels like it rises from beneath it. Warm. Intimate. Uncomfortably close.

Permanent. Same every drop.
The formula is permanent. Same composition every drop. What changes is whether you were watching the sky when the second moon appeared.
The Calendar
Six opportunities in the next thirteen years.
December 31, 2027
New Year's Eve. The first Luna Azul. The rarest drop: a blue moon on the last night of the year.
Specimens 001 through 100.
August 19, 2029
Late summer. The hottest month in Chicago. The last blue moon before the 2030s.
Specimens 101 through 200.
May 31, 2032
End of spring. The Pleiades are still visible at dusk. The first blue moon of the decade.
Specimens 201 through 300.
August 21, 2034
Another August anomaly. Seven years after the first drop.
Specimens 301 through 400.
May 22, 2037
Ten years of Luna Azul. The formula will be a decade old, but this will only be the fifth drop.
Specimens 401 through 500.
January 31, 2040
Deep winter. The coldest Luna Azul. The last drop of the 2030s.
Specimens 501 through 600.
After 2040, the next blue moon occurs in 2043. Then 2045. The intervals stretch.
How It Works
You cannot pre-order Luna Azul. You cannot request a bottle outside of a blue moon. The drop opens only when the astronomical event occurs. 100 bottles. First come, first served. When all 100 are acquired, the drop closes.
Then you wait. Sometimes two years. Sometimes five. The formula remains in the archive. The bottles do not.
No restocks. No exceptions. The scent is permanent. The moment is not.
Why This Exists
The Borikén Archives are tied to history. Anacaona reconstructs the royal court of Xaragua. Juracán reconstructs the charged atmosphere before a Caribbean hurricane. Atabey reconstructs the bioluminescent bays at midnight. Yucahú reconstructs the first rain on dry earth. Every formula is locked to a specific moment in the past.
Luna Azul is tied to astronomy. It is the only formula that will exist indefinitely but appear irregularly. A standing composition with no standing inventory. Where the archives look backward at fixed moments in time, Luna Azul looks upward at a celestial cycle that repeats on its own schedule.
The Borikén Archives are about recovery. Luna Azul is about rarity.
You do not choose when to acquire it. The sky chooses. Your only decision is whether you were ready when the second moon rose.
